The Staffordshire Advertiser, 4 June 1864: TURNPIKE ROADS. WHITCHURCH AND MADELEY TURNPIKE TRUST. Notice
is hereby given, that the general annual meeting of the trustees or
commissioners of the above Turnpike roads will be held at the Corbet Arms
Hotel, in Market Drayton, in the country of Salop, on Saturday, the 18th day of
June next, at the hour of eleven o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of
auditing and passing the accounts of the said road for the year ending the 31st
of December, 1863, and to examine the estimate of the probable expenditure on
the said roads for the current year ending the 31st of December, 1864, and for
the transaction of other general business relating to the said trust. George

daughter of Richard Allman of Buerton, Cheshire in, 1870 (licence 15 November
1870) at St George, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.
They had one son and three daughters.

Jane Baker was twenty years younger than George. She died in 1936,
aged 86.
The Crewe chronicle, 7 March 1936; FUNERAL OF MRS BAKER. The funeral of Mrs Baker took place on
Friday. Canon F E Hicks conducted a service at the parish church and at the
cemetery. Mr R Blakeman, the organist, played ‘Blessed at the departed. and ‘O
Rest in the Lord’. The hymns were ‘Let Saints on earth in concert sign’ and
