1886

 

Francis Ralph Meath Baker was the son of William Meath and Hannah (nee Corbet) Baker (BAK00310). Francis was born on 23 June 1886.

 

1914

 

He served in the First World War with the Royal Field Artillery, 1914-16 as a Lieutenant.

 

His older brother William became a catholic priest and decided to ‘break the entail’, so Frank succeeded to the Hasfield Court Estate.

Frencis Baker married Susan Bryan on 12 April 1921. Although see below?

 

1940

 

He died at Cheltenham on 7 June 1940. He was buried on 10 June 1940 at Hasfield.

 

The Gloucestershire Echo, 1 February 1941: MR F R MEATH BAKER. Mr Francis Ralph Meath Baker, off Hasfield Court, who died on June 7 last, aged 53 years, formerly of 31, Clevedon Place, SW1, son of the late William Meath Baker, left gross estate at the value of £80,806 16s 1d with net personalty £30,287 1s 2d, on which estate duty of £7,001 has been paid. Mrs Madeline Meath Baker, of the same address, the widow, is the executrix. Testator left all of his property to his wife.
