1940
Stuart Alan Farndale, son of Tom and Freda (nee
Tuck) Farndale (FAR00786),
was born on 22 March 1940 (DR). His birth
was registered in Uxbridge District in the second quarter of 1940 (GRO Vol 3A Page 224).
1959
Stuart Farndale was listed on the crew manifest of the Oronsay, a British vessel bound for Honolulu on 4 July
1959. He was listed as a pantryman. The last foreign port before arrival in USA
was Suva, Fiji. The vessel had departed from Japan.
SS
Oronsay was the second Orient Line ship built after World War II. A
sister ship to Orcades, she was named after the island of Oronsay
off the west coast of Scotland. Her maiden voyage was in 1951.
Ruislip
and Northwood
In 1961 to 1964, he lived at Ruislip and Northwood with
Freda Farndale (his mother) and Tom Farndale (his father).

Stuart Alan Farndale, married Judith Mary Thorne (1944 to
1996) in the second quarter of 1964 at Uxbridge District. (MR).
1996
Judith Farndale was born in 1996.
Bexhill
on Sea, East Sussex
2002
Stuart A Farndale married Susan C Ashby in February 2002 at
Hastings & Rother District (MR).
In 2002 and 2003 lived at Bexhill-On-Sea (near Hastings),
East Sussex (Electoral Register)
He worked with St Michael’s Hospice, Hastings and Rother and
artists sold their works in his memory in 2015. Sue Farndale, former Hospice
Fundraiser at the St Michael’s Hospice, said: “Sixteen years ago my husband
Stuart organised the first ever Summer Art exhibition
at the Hospice. Stuart continued to hold the exhibition each year until he
sadly passed away eight years ago. I am delighted that the exhibition has
continued to be held each year since in his memory.”
2007
Stuart Alan Farndale, born 22 March 1940, died on 16 April
2007 at Bexhill, Tonbridge, Sussex, aged 67.
