About 1700
John Farndale may have been the first
Farndale to live at Kilton. Did he farm
there? Did he work there as a labourer? Brotton is associated with Kilton.

John Farndale
married Elizabeth Bennison on 5 February 1705 at Brotton. He would be 26 years old. Elizabeth must have been a cousin since

There is an entry in Brotton BTs that John Farndale married An Bennison on 28 Jan 1705; and I assume this is the same
marriage. This extract from the Yorkshire Bishop’s
Transcript of Marriages (Borthwick Institute
for Archives) says the marriage was at Skelton.
