John Farndale was baptised at Skelton
on 13 August 1751, the
son of William and Mary (nee Butterwick) Farndale (FAR00123) (Skelton PR & IGI).
1775
John Farndale, was a labourer in 1775 when on 20 March 1775, he married Jane Hornby a spinster, both of the Parish of Ormsby (Ormsby PR & IGI). They were married by publication of Banns. He was 24.
Ormesby now sits within southeast Middlesborough.

was John’s eldest brother, and John the youngest (fifth). It seems that William
and John Farndale lived in South Loftus from
1778 to 1790 as freeholders. William was no longer there in 1803. He died in
1813. John seems to have bought property in 1817 Loftus and is shown as a
freeholder from 1817 to 1830. His name is crossed out in 1830 when he must have
left.

In 1818, John Farndale was a freeholder in North Loftus.

In 1830 the name of John Farndale as freeholder is crossed

John Farndale, aged 89 years died on
2 January 1841 of
‘decay of nature’ at Burton Great, Aycliffe, County Durham.
Aycliffe lies a few miles north of Darlington. Burton looks to be a district
now in the area of Newtown Aycliffe.
