Abigail Farndale was born in 1767, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Farndale, (FAR00157) Master Mariner. She was baptised on 29 December 1767 in Whitby (Whitby PR). Her father was a master mariner. Abigail shared the same name as her grandmother, Abigail nee Gear and her father William was captain of a ship at this time called The Abigail and Martha.

Abigail Farndale married Thomas Linklater at Whitby on 20 January 1791 (Whitby PR). Her brother Robert was a witness.

Thomas Linklater was buried in Whitby on 10 June 1830 (Whitby PR, North Yorkshire Record Office PR/WH 1/47). He was 63.
