Thomas
Farndale, son of William and Mary (nee Leppington) Farndale (FAR00281), was born in
Pocklington District at Bishop Wilton (see census records) in
1852. Thomas Farndale’s birth was registered at Pocklington District in the
second quarter of 1852. Mother’s maiden name Leppington (GRO
Vol 9d, page 60).

Farndale married Mary Hannah Weighill at St Mary, Garforth, near Leeds on 9
March 1880 (Garforth PR).

Ethel
Farndale (FAR00590) was born at Barwick on 23 April 1883 (1939 Register) and baptised at Whitkirk on 10 June
1883 (Whitkirk PR). The family were living at Bradbury and Thomas was
working as a shepherd. The birth was registered in the second quarter of 1883
in Tadcaster district (GRO
Vol 9c page 821).
1887
George
Weighill Farndale (FAR00617)
was born at Barwick in 1887 and baptised at Whitkirk on 14 November 1886 (Whitkirk PR).
The family were still living at Bradbury and Thomas was working as a shepherd.
The birth was registered in Tadcaster District in the last quarter of 1886 (GRO Vol 9c page 786).
He was
later an infantryman in the first world war who was killed in action at Arras
during the Third Battle of the Scarpe in 1917.
