Fanny Amelia Rose Farndale,
daughter of John Christopher and Jane Barnett (nee
Telford) Farndale (FAR00308), was born in
Wisbech District in 1863 (BR). Fanny Amelia Rose Farndale’s birth was registered in Wisbech,
Cambridgeshire in the fourth quarter of 1863 (GRO Vol 3b page 605).
Her father, a sea captain and master mariner, was lost at sea on
the steamer The Norfolk in the Bay of Biscay on 22 January 1868. Rose
was five years old.
1877
Her mother, Jane, married a barrister, S B Ives, a barrister, in
New York, USA in 1877. Rose was fourteen years old.
Rose seems to have emigrated to join her. The Boston Globe, 22 Apr
