Mary
Emily Farndale, daughter of John and Elizabeth (nee Walker) Farndale (FAR00365), was born in York District, and baptised at
St Cuthberts, York on 5 November 1874 (St
Cuthbert, York PR). Her father was a carter. Mary Emily Farndale’s birth was
registered in York District in the fourth
quarter of 1874 (GRO Vol 9d page 38).
Mary’s
mother Elizabeth nee Walker had remarried Christopher Walls after John Farndale
died in 1874, and their two children lived with the new family.

So Emily’s mother, Elizabeth nee Walker had
remarried Christopher Walls after John Farndale died in 1874, and their two

Mary Emily Farndale, 22, married William Ernest
Hitchcock, 23, a lithographic artist, on 26 December 1896 at St Olave,
York District. Her father was deceased and the
family lived at 4 Railway Street, York (St Olav’s, York PR, GRO Vol 9d
page 82).
They both disappear from the records after this. They may
have emigrated.
