Celebrating the Festival of
Britain.
Cleveland Standard, 8 June
1951: MOORSHOLM
FESTIVAL FLING. Fine weather favoured the start of the Festival of Britain week
at Moorsholm on Saturday, which opened
with a fancy dress parade and a display of sideshows on the village green. One
of the most picturesque villages in the district, Moorsholm could have been set
up as an example of a typical English village. There is very little traffic to
the village, but the residents are lacking nothing in their celebrations at the
festival year, and activities were arranged for every evening this week....
