(Staffordshire Sentinel, 18 September 1930) Note Bakers and Mrs Farndale attended, so this must be a Hall relative? In September 1930 Margaret Hall, daughter of Colonel and Mrs A J Hall of Parkfields, Tittensor married Christopher Chernocke Bullock, son of Mr and Mrs (nee Smith) Chales E Bullock of Barlaston, at Stone, Staffordshire In 1939, Charles E Bullock (born 6 November 1866) was a chartered accountant (he had been chairman of the British Pottery Manufacturers Federation and a CA with Messrs Bourner, Bullock & Co), Christopher C Bullock (born 26 February 1906) was also a chartered accountant, and Margaret Bullock (born 27 August 1903), was ‘unpaid domestic duties’. They had a cook, parlour maid, housemaid and nurse and lived at Orsell House Cottages, Barlaston, Stone, Staffordshire Margaret Hall’s father was Colonel Arthur John Hall who commanded the 2nd-5th Staffordshire Regiment in the Ireland rebellion during the War.
Colonel Arthur John Hall Born: 6 Apr 1868 in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire Son of James Hall and Mary (nee Twigg) Hall Brother of Catherine Alice (nee Hall) Lynam, James Henry Hall, Robert Hugh Hall and Marianne (Hall) Baker Husband of Catherine Mira (nee Stubbs) Hall — they married 21 Oct 1890 in Aston, Staffordshire Father of Mary Catherine (Hall) Banfield, Henry Hall, Kathleen Mira Hall and Peggy (Hall) Bullock Died 21 Oct 1934 at age 66 in Tittensor, Staffordshire Miss Baker (Hilda?), Mr G Baker (Geoff) and Mrs Farndale (Peggy) attended the wedding and gave a cut glass vase, water jug and custard glasses. So this was Marianne Hall’s brother’s daughter, Margaret (Peggy) who married Christopher Bullock. On 25 May 1939, at ‘Summerfield’ Stone, Christopher and ‘Peggy’ had a daughter. Arthur John Hall’s eldest daughter was Mary Catherine Hall (1894-1970) who married Edgar Stanley Banfield (1883 – 1958), so was later Mary Catherine Banfield. There was a Rev Edgar Stanley Banfield of Lincoln Theological College who was a curate at Stoke on Trent in 1921. Edgar was born on 11 November 1883 in South Africa. He married Mary Catherine Hall in 1922 in Staffordshire. He died on 7 July 1958 in Shifnal, Shropshire.
I believe it was Henry Hall, whose daughter Catherine Alice, married Charles Cotteril Lynham, known as Sipper Lynham, founder and headmaster of the Dragon School at Oxford.
