Mary Hall, daughter of
Henry and Elizabeth (nee Godwin) Hall (HAL00087) was born on 9 February 1847 (Mon R). Her birth was

Mary Hall, daughter of Henry Hall, 23, married Evan Powell, 36, of
Newtown, Montgomeryshire at the Anglican Church of St George, Newcastle under
Lyme, on 1 November 1870.
Evan Powell was born in 1834 and was a land agent.
They had a son, Godwin Hall Powell.
1874
Mary Powell died on 5 July 1874 and was buried on 8 July 1874 at
St George’s, Newcastle under Lyme. Her death was registered in Newcastle under
Lyme in the third quarter of 1874 (GRO Staffordshire Vol
6B Page 34).
There is a memorial window at the Anglican Church of St Llwchaiarn, Llanllwchaiarn,
Montgomeryshire which reads: To the glory of God and in loving remembrance /
of Mary wife of Evan POWELL / of Severnside in this
parish / born February 9th 1847 died July 5th 1874.
Evan Powell looks to have emigrated to Virginia, USA.
