John Francis Farndale, son of William and Mary (nee Coverdale) Farndale (FAR00665), was born in Thirsk District in the second quarter of 1932 (GRO Vol 9D Page 672).

Northallerton

He later lived at Northallerton.

1951

Birmingham Daily Post, 7 July 1951: MANY YOUNG PEOPLE AT ROYAL SHOW. It was “half crown” day at the Royal Show at Cambridge yesterday and there were large numbers of young people at the showground. The programme consisted almost entirely of events having popular appeal, demonstrations of sheep dog working, parades of winning horses and cattle and of the Newmarket foxhounds. Large crowds watched the children's horse jumping contest... In the national tool and machinery competition organised by the Young Farmers Clubs, the junior challenge cup was won by S Willis and J Farndale, Northallerton YFC....

1959

John F Farndale, married Margaret M Hugill at Richmond District, in the first quarter of 1959 (MR).

1970

Their daughter, Rachel Mary Farndale (FAR01176) was born in 1970.

2019

John Francis Farndale died in Northallerton on 13 February 2019.

The Darlington and Stockton Times, 22 February 2019: FARNDALE John Francis On February 13 peacefully in Southwoods Nursing Home John, aged 86 years of Northallerton. Dearly loved father of Rachel and treasured grandfather of Lois. Funeral Service to be held at St James' Church, Romanby on Monday, February 25 at 11.00am followed by private interment. Family flowers only please. Donations if wished may be given after the Service to benefit the British Polio Fellowship and St James' Church.
