SCHOOLS MAKE HIT IN DRAMA. The success of the East Cleveland Schools Drama Festival,
held in the Stanghow Lane County Modern School last Friday and Saturday more
than atoned for the hard work undertaken by teachers and scholars. The long
hours of work in preparation was reflected in the
manner in which the children carried out their allotted parts, and also in the
costumes and stage props made by the scholars under the supervision of the
teachers. Moorsholm juniors gave a marionette show in six scenes, a free
adaptation of “Jack and the Beanstalk” and the marionettes used had been
fashioned by the children... At a second session, further scenes from “A
Midsummer Night's Dream” were given by scholars of the Lingdale
