Martha Farndale,
daughter of Samuel & Elizabeth Farndale (FAR00149) of Kilton, a joiner was baptised at Brotton on 6 April 1779 (Brotton PR).
When Martha
Farndale was born in 1779 in Kilton, Yorkshire, her father, Samuel, was 44, and
her mother, Elizabeth nee Hutton, was 29.
1802
Martha Farndale
married Francis Earl on 14 January 1803 at Brotton (Brotton
PR).
Banns of marriage were duly published in this Chapel (Brotton) for Francis Earl of the Parish of Lofthouse and
Martha Farndale of this chapelry on the three Sundays underwritten during
Devine service, viz; on Sundays 19th and 26th 1802 and 2nd Jan 1803. The
above named Francis Earl and Martha Farndale were married in this Chapel
(Brotton) by banns this 4th Day of January1803 by me William Barwick, Curate of
Lofthouse. (Signed by Francis Earl; Martha made her mark). Witnesses; Robert
Jolley and Ann Readman (Brotton PR). Martha was 24.
1846
Martha Earl died in 1846 aged 65 and was buried at All
Saints, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey on 26 July 1846 (Surrey
History Centre P33/32).
