William Farndale, son of Frances Farndale (FAR00181) spinster, was born on 11 April 1786 and baptised at Whitby on 13 April 1786 (Whitby PR, North Yorkshire County Record Office N-PR-WH1-9). His mother was a spinster, so he was born when she was single, at the age of 30. He was referred to in the language of the day as illegitimate.

William died aged 13 months and was buried at St Mary, Whitby on 13 May 1787 (Whitby PR).
