Elias Farndale, son of Jethro and Alice
Farndale (FAR00218), was
baptised at Coxwold on 17 April 1829 (Coxwold PR
& IGI). Jethro was a farmer of Yearsley.
1863
There are no census records and no
marriage or death records.
However Annie Farndale (FAR00453), born 1863 lived with
her grandfather, Jethro and Alice Farndale (FAR00218) in 1871 and 1881.
Annie’s marriage certificate is blank for her father. This Annie cannot have
been William’s daughter (who already had an Annie), nor John’s (who lived in
Bramley near Leeds by then).
So for present purposes I am assuming
Annie Farndale (FAR00453) was
Elias’ daughter.
But we don’t
have any record of Elias’ marriage (presumably before 1863), or his death. And
we don’t know why Annie lived with her grandfather.
