So Ann Hall was a widow by 1901 and farming herself.

1907

There is evidence that she may have married Samuel Mede at some stage. Samuel Mede had married Teresa Featherstone in 1891 in Yarmouth. According to the article below, Samuel Mede came to live in Brotton in about 1896. The article refers to the late Mrs Mede, a sister of Charles Farndale who died in about 1907. So it seems that Annie married Samuel Mede sometime after 1901. There is a record of a marriage of Annie Maria Hall, registered in the third quarter of 1907 (GRO Vol 9d page 1201), so she may have remarried very shortly before she died.

Annie Maria Hall died on 27 February 1907, aged 71 and was buried at All Saints, Hutton Rudby (8km SW of Stokesley). She was buried on 2 March 1907 (Stokesley PR, GRO Vol 9d page 521, Probate Index).

1916

Samuel Mede’s ninetieth birthday was announced in the Whitby Gazette on 3 March 1916: Mr S N Mede, of Day’s Terrace, Brotton, has just celebrated his ninetieth birthday. He was born on February 1st, 1826, and in the course of his long life has lived in the reign of five Sovereigns of England, a truly notable fact. Although so far advanced in years, he enjoys good health. Mr Mede is a returned customs officer, and came to live at Brotton from Great Yarmouth about twenty years ago. Eight years ago he lost his wife by death. Mrs Mede was a sister of the late Mr Charles Farndale, of Kilton lodge, Broughton. Until prevented by age and infirmity, Mr Mede, previous to coming to Brotton, frequently occupied Methodist pulpits as a local preacher in the Wesleyan connection, with which body he is still associated. On the attainment of his ninetieth birthday, he was the recipient of felicitations from friends.

1926

Samuel Mede gave probate in his will to Annie’s nephew, George: MEDE, Samuel Nightingale of 4 Days Terrace, Brotton, Yorkshire died 7 March 1920. Probate London 30 June to George Farndale farmer. Effects £500 4s 4d. Samuel Nightingale Mede was baptised on 6 February 1926 at Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. He was the son of John and Ann Mede.
