Ruth
Farndale, went to Alberta Canada in 1929, aged 42, occupation farming, of Craggs
Hall, Carlin Howe. She travelled unaccompanied, from Liverpool to Montreal in
1929 on the Athenia of the Anchor-Donaldson line (captained by James Black),
departing from Liverpool on 5 October 1929. She arrived on 13 October 1929.
The
family story is that she arrived in Alberta and insisted
on marrying Martin, though the entry in the passenger list suggests she was already his fiancée.
Ruth Farndale
married her first cousin, Martin Farndale (FAR00571) in Trochu, Alberta, Canada in 1929.
They had no family (Family knowledge).

to England (Family knowledge).

is a record of her crossing into USA at Buffalo, New York on 11 November 1947.
Perhaps this was her journey home.
