Ethel Farndale, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (nee Armin) Farndale (FAR00495) was born in Hartlepool, Durham in 1894 and baptised on 1 July 1894 (Hartlepool PR and see also Elaine Farndale's family tree). Ethel Farndale’s birth was registered in Hartlepool District in the third quarter of 1894 (GRO Vol 10a page 121).

Ethel Farndale, married Sidney Burns in 1916 and their marriage was registered in the second quarter of 1916 at Hartlepool District (GRO Vol 10a page 233).

Sidney Burns was the son of Henry John Burns (1863 to 1933) and Ruth (nee Lloyd) Burns (1858 to 1922) and Sidney was baptised in Staffordshire on 20 January 1895. He served in the Royal Army Medical Corps in the First World War.
