Brenda Farndale, daughter of George William and Doris May (nee Earnshaw) Farndale (FAR00678), was born in Maidstone District, Kent, in the third quarter of 1925 (GRO Vol 2A Page 1471).

Hampshire Telegraph, 23 July 1937: SCHOOL SPORTS AT CHICHESTER. CHILDREN AND PARENTS EXCITED. Parents became as excited as their children at the annual sports of the Chichester Central Junior Church of England Girls’ School in the Theological College sports ground yesterday week. There was a long series of races, and at the conclusion the prizes were presented by the Mayoress, who also handed special awards to children who had achieved merit in the recent West Sussex County Council examination.... Chichester Observer, 21 July 1937: RUNNING THROUGH THE RAINDROPS. CENTRAL GIRLS’ SPORTS. In a small field hidden away between St Bartholomew's church and the back of the Bishop's palace gardens the girls of the Central Girls’ School held their annual sports, on Thursday. Dull skies and occasional drops of rain did nothing to mar the enthusiasm of the young athletes, and the rain which fell yet later in the afternoon and evening just came at the conclusion of the meeting. Brenda J Farndale married Kenneth Cyril Willshaw (1919 to 1999) in the Methodist Church, Leek. Staffordshire in 1977 (MR).

 

1997

 

Brenda Willshaw died at Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire in the second quarter of 1997 aged 71.
