Mary Farndale, age 80, born in Yorks (ie about 1761). It would be assumed this was his mother,
but his mother was Jane. There is a Mary Farndale born in 1761 (FAR00196) although she married
John Frankland in 1785 – she was also quite a distant relative to George, but
could she have been widowed and ended up living with George?

Ann Child by banns of full age, widow of Brotton,
daughter of Michael Ventress, labourer, at the Parish Church, Skelton, on 2 April 1842. George and Ann
signed. Witnesses John Lewis and William Ventress. William Close was the
Incumbent.
George’s sister,
Hannah (FAR00250), married
George Ventress, perhaps the sister of Ann.
