Joseph Farndale, son of Joseph and Mary (nee Hill) Farndale (FAR00228) of Nunthorpe, carpenter, was baptised at Great Ayton on 21 October 1827 (Great Ayton PR).

Census 1841 Pinchingthorpe (west of Guisborough)

William Farndale, aged 50, cartwright, born in Yorkshire. His age was wrong, but this was FAR00200. Joseph Farndale, aged 13 was living with William, perhaps as an apprentice. They were living with the Chapman family.

Joseph Farndale age 26 (sic, recte 29) bachelor, joiner of Ayton son of Joseph Farndale (FAR00228), cartwright married Margaret Robson aged 21, by licence, spinster of Nunthorpe, daughter of John Robson farmer deceased, at the Parish Church Ayton-in-Cleveland, on 10 May 1856 (Marriage Certificate). Joseph and Ann signed. The witnesses were Henry Horne and Mary Farndale. George Robson was the Curate.

Amelia Farndale (FAR00443), daughter of Joseph and Margaret Louisa (nee Robson) Farndale was born in Stockton District in 1861. Amelia Farndale’s birth was registered in Stockton District in the second quarter of 1861 (GRO Vol 10a page 41).

Amelia Farndale, died at Stockton District and the death was registered in the third quarter 1861 (GRO Vol 10a page 20). She was buried at Linthorpe (Ayresome) Cemetery, Middlesbrough aged 4 months on 12 August 1861 (Yorkshire Burials).
