York Herald, 23 July 1894: HUTTON RUDBY TEMEPERANCE
SOCIETY. BAND CONTEST AND SHOW. On Saturday the second annual show of fruit,
poultry, pigeons etc was held at Hutton Rudby, in a
field kindly lent by Mr J M Mason of Eden cottage, and
was attended with great success. To begin with the entries in all the classes
showed a decided increase upon last year, while the attendance at the gate
proved that the show is growing in popularity. The weather kept fair until the
band contest had closed, when a heavy thunderstorm broke just after the judge
had given the awards.... In the ladies’ department the prize winners were...

BLAIR. On Tuesday the pretty village of Hutton Rudby,
in the Cleveland district, was a scene festivity and rejoicing, the occasion
being the marriage of Miss Amy Blair, youngest daughter of the late Mr J Y
Blair, of Blair's Engine Works, Stockton and Drumranch
Hall, Hutton Rudby, and Mr Smollett Clark Thompson, sub
agent of the British Linen Company’s Bank, Leith, and son of the late Mr Thomas
Thompson, Writer to the Signet, 8 Edinburgh. Rain fell heavily in the hours of
the morning, but the weather cleared during the forenoon... The wedding

Annie Farndale, 29, married Alexander Bruce Brown,
31, an engineer, at Hutton Rudby on 29 April 1902. Her
father was Robert Edward Farndale (deceased), a former clerk. Her husband was
from Argyllshire, Scotland. (MR)

AT HUTTON RUDBY. On Tuesday, a wedding took place at All Saints Church, Hutton Rudby, the contracting parties being Mr Bruce Brown, of Dunoon,
NB, and Miss Annie Paver farndale, niece of the late Miss Paver, Hutton Rudby. The Rev J Johnson officiated, and the church was
tastefully decorated with flowers. A large number of
friends witnessed the ceremony. Afterwards the happy couple left for Edinburgh.
