Herald, 23 July 1894: HUTTON RUDBY TEMPERANCE SOCIETY. BAND CONTEST AND
SHOW. On Saturday the second annual show of fruit, poultry, pigeons etc was
held at Hutton Rudby, in a field kindly lent by Mr J
M Mason of Eden cottage, and was attended with great success. To begin with the
entries in all the classes showed a decided increase upon last year, while the
attendance at the gate proved that the show is growing in popularity. The
weather kept fair until the band contest had closed, when a heavy thunderstorm
broke just after the judge had given the awards.... In the ladies’ department
the prize winners were... Miss Farndale...

Herald, 27 July 1899: MARRIAGE OF MISS AMY BLAIR. On Tuesday the pretty
village of Hutton Rudby, in the Cleveland district, was
a scene festivity and rejoicing, the occasion being the marriage of Miss Amy
Blair, youngest daughter of the late Mr J Y Blair, of Blair's Engine Works,
Stockton and Drumranch Hall, Hutton Rudby, and Mr Smollett Clark Thompson, sub agent of the
British Linen Company’s Bank, Leith, and son of the late Mr Thomas Thompson,
Writer to the Signet, 8 Edinburgh. Rain fell heavily in the hours of the
morning, but the weather cleared during the forenoon... The wedding presents

Annie Farndale, 29, married Alexander Bruce Brown,
31, an engineer, at Hutton Rudby on 29 April 1902 (Hutton
Rudby PR). Her father was Robert
Edward Farndale (deceased), a former clerk. Her husband was from Argyllshire,
Scotland.

Star (Darlington), 2 May 1902: WEDDING AT HUTTON RUDBY. On Tuesday, a wedding
took place at All Saints Church, Hutton Rudby, the
contracting parties being Mr Bruce Brown, of Dunoon, NB, and Miss Annie Paver
farndale, niece of the late Miss Paver, Hutton Rudby.
The Rev J Johnson officiated, and the church was tastefully decorated with
flowers. A large number of friends witnessed the ceremony. Afterwards the happy
couple left for Edinburgh.

Advertiser, 3 May 1902. BROWN-FARNDALE. Hutton Rudby,
Cleveland, Yorkshire, on the 29th alt, by the Rev J Johnson, MA, A B Brown, son
of the late A B brown, banker, Whitburn, Linlithgowshire,
to an E P Farndale, grand niece of the late Miss
Paver, of Hutton Rudby, Yorkshire.
Sadly
Alexander Bruce Brown died a few months later on 9 July 1902 (Probate
index).
