Easingwold District on 4 September 1893 (1939 Register) and baptised at Myton on Swale on 5
November 1893 (Myton on Swale PR). Robert
William Farndale’s birth was registered in Easingwold District in the fourth
quarter of 1893 (GRO Vol 9d page 409).

Robert W Farndale, married Violet Ward on 30 March
1918 in Thornaby and their marriage was registered in the first quarter of 1918
at Middlesbrough District (GRO Vol 9d page 1042, St Paul, Thornaby PR).
Violet Wood was
the daughter of James D Wood (1853 to 1936) and Agnes (nee Rabone) Wood (1859
to 1904) and was born on 24 July 1887 and brought up in Staffordshire. She had
married George W Ward at Wolverhampton on 16 September 1905, but he had been
killed as the result of an accident during the First World War on 5 August 1916
when serving with the Royal Navy Reserve on HMS Britomart in the Persian Gulf.
Violet then lived at 28 Pottery Street, Thornaby on Tees.
