from his relatives: "James Farndale, was my husband’s father and was born on
16 Jun 1895 at Wadsworth Lincs. He went to school at Hareworth. He worked at
animal husbandry and served in both World Wars. In WW1 he tended the horses.
His war service was 31 Aug 1914 to 10 Mar 1919 and from 1939 to 1941. He
married Mary Fairburn and they had nine children."
