Henry Farndale was baptised in Brotton
on 25 October 1795,
twin son of Samuel Farndale
(FAR00149) of Kilton (Brotton PR & IGI). When Henry Farndale
and his twin brother Joseph were born in 1795 in Kilton, Yorkshire, their
father, Samuel, was 60, and their mother, Elizabeth nee Hutton, was 45.
1819
Henry Farndale’s
first marriage was to Elizabeth Appleton in Great Ayton, Yorkshire, on 20 May
1819 when he was 24 years old.

By 1851, Henry was a widower. The Census of 1851 for
Great Ayton listed Henry Farndale, head; widower; aged 54; agricultural
labourer; Robert Farndale, son; aged 17; agricultural labourer; born Barwick (FAR00326).
1854
On 27 February
1854, Henry Farndale’s second marriage was with Ann Richardson in Great Ayton,
when he was 59 years old.
Henry Farndale aged 55 (actually 59) a
widower, a labourer of Ayton son of Samuel Farndale (FAR00149),
farmer deceased, married Ann Richardson aged 41, spinster, servant of Ayton,
daughter of Ralph Richardson weaver deceased at the Parish Church of Great
Ayton, 27 Feb 1854. (Henry made his mark; Ann signed). Witness John Wright (his

1855
Mary Ann Farndale, the only child of Henry with
Ann, was born at Great Ayton on 3
March 1855 (FAR00409) (Great Ayton PR).
1857
Henry Farndale died
on 28 December 1857 in Stokesley (probably as registration district for Great
Ayton), when he was 62 years old. Henry Farndale aged 62 an
agricultural labourer of Great Ayton died of chronic
hepatitis at Stokesley. His son, Robert Farndale (FAR00326) was in
attendance. The death was registered for Stokesley on 29 Dec 1857 (DC).
