Yorkshire Gazette, 26 July 1890: KENSINGTON HOUSE, YORK, COLLEGE OF PRECEPTORS’ MIDSUMMER EXAMINATION. Two pupils presented by Miss M Graves gained second class certificates: M C Cook and E Farndale.

 

Yorkshire Gazette, 2 August 1890: COLLEGE OF PRECEPTORS. YORK CENTRE. Under the superintendence of the Rev H Vyvyan MA, the certificate examinations of the College of Preceptors for the York centre was held in June last at the Soldiers’ Institute, Clifford Street. There were 33 candidates, and 30 passed, or 91%. The number of candidates who entered for the examination throughout the country were 5,594, of whom 4,277 passed, or 76%; and the total number of candidates examined for certificates by the College of Preceptors during the year ending midsummer 1890, was 15,579.
